Top Teen Books For Those Who Liked The Lovely Bones

Warning! This post is filled with books that make you cry, if you plan to read any of these buy tissues, AHEAD OF TIME.
You have been warned.
So hey there, another Top Ten post this week. A lovely little meme hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish which blog I absolutely adore. I decided to pick The Lovely Bones, a book I read a while ago, who's picture is below, and loved! And the movie was stunning as well, even though the book was better. So here I go.

The Lovely Bones

1. My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult - Very very sad, like this book, but completely different plots, in a good way. I haven't read this book, but it's on my shelves and the movie made me cry, I'm serious, so I must get to it soon.
2. The Lying Game by Sara Shepard - The only thing alike about these books is the fact that they are told through the POV of the dead girl, or so to speak, so if you like books like that, here you go.
3. Where The Heart Is by Billie Letts - Sad and just a sweetheart book, like the Lovely Bones. The movies are just amazing for both these books, so check them out.
4. Before I Die by Jenny Downham - Both these books made me cry. Seriously! It did. They are amazing and the plots are sort of similar, instead of the person dying and telling the story, the person in this book is about to die and is telling the story.
5. Wintergirls by Lauren Halse Anderson - Again, this book made me cry. A great fast paced page turner. It was great. A must read. Go read, now.
6. Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott - This book and A Lovely Bones are both about a girl being raped, but in Living Dead Girl she is alive, while in A Lovely Bones she is dead, but they are both beautifully written.
7. Such A Pretty Girl by Laura Weiss - Simply amazing and a book many other people need to know about. Really.
8. By The Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead by Julie Ann Peters - This is soo sad and although I have not read it, I recommend it because suicide and bullying must be talked about and after I read the synopsis, I must get it. Review should be coming soon, I'm getting it as of tomorrow.
9. Hate List by Jennifer Brown - Another sad read, 'nuff said.
10. After by Amy Efaw - I read it back in middle school and showed all my friends about it and recommend it all the time. Great read.

So there's my list. Any sad books you've read?
Thank GOD for these books, or I wouldn't be as into reading as I am.

  1. I haven't read The Lonely Bones yet but I have it on my shelf. I heard it's an amazing book. Great list!
