The House At The End Of The Street Movie Review (Now In Theatres)

House at The End of The Street

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Elisabeth Shue, Max Thieriot
Plot: A mother and daughter move to a new town and find themselves living next door to a house where a young girl murdered her parents. When the daughter befriends the surviving son, she learns the story is far from over.
I give this movie a: B+

My Thoughts: Well, well, well, as for scare factor, this movie is not scary, in the least. I mean it has its moments, but what horror movie doesn't, except the few minor ones that I won't mention here. And so I didn't expect much from this movie and it sort of went a tad above my expectations, but it was more of like an episode of Law and Order SVU (WHICH I LOVE) rather than a horror movie.

And on another note, the little HATES hashtag thing on Twitter pisses me off a lot! You cannot take the "the" out it. But back to the story, its your basic generic horror movie, it feels like its been done before, which it has, ON LAW AND ORDER. And its just basic, nothing new. I mean its been done before, these characters move to this new place and there's a mysterious house and such and it gets a tad boring. But it was a good movie, overall. But that's just because I enjoy this kind of cheesy horror genre period. I mean throughout the movie, I thought: Oh my whats going to happen? What? I was genuinely confused and by the end I was like:

But after, I was like: Ehhhh. So if you want to see a generic, poorly crafted-but-yet-good movie, with a semi-good ending, this is for you. I liked it, and let me know if you liked it or not in the comments. Just let me know anything you want to know about The House At The End of The Street.

Happy Readings,

  1. Horror movies always disappoint me lately. They're too fake.

    1. I see what you're saying. Hollywood is investing in the same ole, same ole plots, just with bigger actors/resses and effects.
