This Or That: Ebooks Vs Real Books

Hi, ladies and gents, my name is Kandee and we're going to diverge into the wonderful world of books.

And we're here. So in this new technological based world, we have ZE EBOOK.

You can read it on the phone, on the Kindle, WHICH I OWN WOOP WOOP! You can read it on the Kindle, too. Its dark and mysterious, unless you buy a cover for it. Which I have my wonderful green cover for my Kindle.

Then the real beautiful books. They are pretty to look at, they are wonderful to touch, to hold, etc. etc.

Can you say you do not love this? I would love to own this. I love to put it on my shelf for myself and for all my friends to look at.

With the Ebook, you cannot see its pretty-ness, UNLESS you buy a cover.

With the Ebook, its light and portable as such.

You can have 30 books on the light easy E-reader, but carrying 30 real books.

Easy? Not so much.

With the Ebook, you can sit and read sideways or maybe you want to get a snack while reading a book? Maybe you want to sit on your couch and with the light easy Ebook you can hold it however you want. Unless you're holding it in the sky and it falls on your face. That'd hurt. Well with a real book, that'd hurt too.

With the real book, you have to move and shuffle in order to get in the perfect position, which sucks.

With the real book, you can read it whenever and usually wherever.

With the Ebook, you cannot bring it near water or you'd have the risk of breaking it. So no reading in the bathtub.

I am clumsy. So you see this? You see that woman reading in her...bathtub...of...books? NO.NO Kindle in tub for me!

And for the thing about reading in the shower. Still no.

With a real book, you can enjoy and read in the bathtub, shower? I still don't know about that.

I don't think I am physically capable of this because if I drop my book in the shower, I will be pissed because then I'm going to have to wait for it to dry and I am very impatient.

With the Ebook, it is cheaper than the real book. Say I want a copy of a little Mara Dyer. For the Ebook, its is around 10 dollars.

For the regular book, its 20 fucking DOLLARS. I am, as you see, currently unemployed. And do not have time for buying expensive books.

With the real book, you have the risk for paper cuts. I do not get these. My friend, unfortunately does, so...that sucks.

With the Ebook, no papercuts.

With the Real Books, I can feel it, I can re read it. I can do all these things, but with the Ebook, I do not know, I can't reread on there. I just can't. I CAN'T.

Well, with Ebook or Real Book. Your decision. I cannot pick at this time. Do not ask me. But leave a comment, what do you think?

Happy Readings,
Kandee

  1. I always feel obligated to say I perfer real books, but I'm just not sure anymore. I do like real books.

I like the covers of real books, I like getting them signed and just feeling the weight of the book. I am one of those people who stick posted notes between the pages. I like seeing the fonts/printing style as intended by the publisher. With an e-book I feel like you loose some of that.

I do like my Kindle though ! I can snack while I read and not worry about staining the pages and it is so light and portable.

So, for me it's a draw.

    1. I agree. I love when I get my books signed, it feels amazing. And I don't really care about the font and such, my friend does. She hates it when the font isn't perfect.

  2. Its a draw for me as well. I love my real books. But I have a lot of the novellas or short stories that come with series on my Nook. I also have oodles of classics, and those it doesn't matter to me to read on my Nook. Its actually much easier, because I was able to clean off half of my bookshelves! And I like that you can usually read a free sample before you buy the ebook!

    1. Oh yeah. I love the samples because sometimes I'm drawn in by the cover and the book ends up being terrible.

    1. I love reading a book in the bath and such because I'm too chicken to bring my Kindle into the bath.

  4. I guess eBooks are much better as thy are cost effcient, and you wont have the burden of going to the book store everytime you have to buy the book. You can just go online and buy the desired book. You will also not have the tension of carrying them from place to place. And the books will never go out of stock if you want to buy it!
